Sentinel is working to broaden the kinds of data available for use in accomplishing FDA’s goal of building an active surveillance system to monitor the safety of FDA-regulated medical products. Complementary data sources include registries and prescribing databases. Collaboration with registries and prescribing databases supplements core claims and administrative data and creates opportunities to validate exposures and outcomes used in Sentinel analyses.
