Convened annually, the Sentinel Initiative Public Workshop showcases the work of the Sentinel Initiative to-date, along with future-looking discussions which provide insight into the future state of the Sentinel Initiative. Throughout the day, experts will share insights on advancing methodological approaches; utilizing a variety of real-world data sources—such as registries, health information exchanges and national repositories—to strengthen real-world evidence generation; and the role of artificial intelligence to improve signal detection, including leveraging natural language processing to enhance the use of EHR-linked claims data through accelerated chart validation. The workshop will reinforce FDA’s commitment to building a more integrated, transparent, and technologically advanced Sentinel system.
