    This article provides a high level overview of the findings of 19 systematic reviews of studies that examined the validity of algorithms to identify specific health outcomes using administrative and claims data. The author categorizes outcomes on the basis of the strength of evidence supporting the algorithms and suggests priorities for future validation studies.
