    Description

In this request, we aimed to characterize the capture of well-known confounding characteristics in the Sentinel Distributed Database (SDD). The study period includes data from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2023. We distributed this request to 14 Sentinel Data Partners on December 9, 2024.

    This analysis includes two reports:

    • Report 1: This report includes data from all 14 Data Partners to which the request was distributed. It describes cohorts with prevalent and incident confounding conditions (obesity, overweight, smoking, alcohol abuse or dependence, drug abuse or dependence, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) or percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), and sudden cardiac arrest), diagnosis codes for a body mass index (BMI) range, and non-missing values for race and imputed race.
    • Report 2: This report includes data from the seven Data Partners of the 14 Data Partners in Report 1 that contribute vitals data. In addition to describing the characteristics described in Report 1, this report also describes cohorts with height and weight measurements in the vitals data, calculatable BMI using vitals data, and records of blood pressure in the vitals data.
