    Description

    In this report we describe annual rates of cannabis-related encounters per 10,000 eligible person-years, stratified by the legality status of cannabis in each state, US territory, and the District of Columbia. We identified encounters involving cannabis use, cannabis-related disorders, or poisonings in the inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, institutional, and any care settings, among individuals aged 18-64 years old. This analysis was conducted as an update to a previous Sentinel query.

    The study period includes data from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2022. We distributed this request to four Sentinel Data Partners on September 23, 2024.
